Don Bosco Tech Society (Maram) PMKK Centre organized International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 6, 2020. The celebration centered around the theme ‘An equal world is an Enable World’. Around 25+ female trainees; together with the alumni, attended the program and shared the occasion. Their presence was a symbolic gesture to see how Don Bosco Tech Society has made them self-reliant.

Fr. Sebastian Jose (Centre in-charge) spoke at length and breadth on the theme of the occasion. In his speech, he said, "Men cannot become women, so also women cannot become. Henceforth,  both should be given equal opportunities, understanding their limitations.” He added, “Family is the basis to lay a strong foundation to society and nation, at large. Therefore, to see an enabled world, it should start right from every family, where every child is given an equal opportunity.” In praise of women Fr. Jose said, “The world has advanced in many ways.” Continued “we see the role of women as educators, caretakers, entrepreneurs, CEOs, pilots and even in arm forces. The nation put safety and security at the hands of women, which in the past was never accepted in our nation.”

Ms. Chin Ruth Thapa and Ms. Chingakham Rani Devi (Alumni) both spoke on the importance of ‘women employment’ and ‘family values’. They thanked and appreciated the Don Bosco Tech Society for free skill training program otherwise they felt, could be nowhere today.

There was a short presentation on women empowerment and was followed by refreshment served by male staff members and trainees.
